It really sucks that I let this one pass... I had such a full day that I couldn't get myself even the tiniest macaron! Now lets hope for the good weather to show.hugsYleniaAmbitieuse.net
Owww, no! I hope you had a sweet day all the same. Yes! Let's!! It's sunny today, I hope it stays like this!! Bises Lou xx
Glad you got to celebrate! I was bummed to have been outside of Paris at the time. Must make up for it soon, even if the macarons are no longer free...
Ahh, but you are travelling, no? That's special in its own right! I did have three years to make up for - kept missing it since being in Paris! So I kind of went to town! Enjoy the travels, the macaroons will be waiting for you when you get back!! xx
I'm so bummed that I didn't get to participate this year!! Who doesn't love free stuff?! So which boulangerie did you hit up and which flavors to get?
Ohhh, I went a little mad... I had a three hour window while 'les enfants' were at their theatre class, so started at Galleries Lafayette and got a basil-tasting creation from Jean-Paul Hévin and a green tea one from Sadaharu Aoki, which were both... interesting, but quite tasty. Then we went across the road to Pierre Hermé and I got the jasmine-flavoured Yasmine which was just divine! Then we headed to Pierre Hermé on Av. de l'Opera and took one flavoured menthe fraîche and fruits des bois - this was my favourite, it was like eating a strawberry mojito!! And then we went over to the Paul Hévin on Faub. St Honoré and got a salted caramel (my flavour du jour) and it didn't disappoint. Then, despite wanting to take pictures of them for a possible blog post, I couldn't help myself and ate them all one after the other walking back to the bus stop! Just couldn't handle having a pocketful of macarons!! Defs recommend eating lunch before for next year!! (Oh, and the one in the pic is a strawberries and cream, which was amazing! But I cheated with that one, I bought it from Carette at Trocedero just for the photo!)
